About The Guild

When this guild was formed two years ago, we had no idea how big or small our fundraising efforts would be. We just knew that we wanted to do something. I will never forget the words of a friend of mine, who also was a member of a Children's Guild "God forbid something were to ever happen to my child, I just want to know that I did something to help." That was the nudge I needed to form this guild. It was when I was in an elevator at Children's with my daughter, going in for a minor procedure, another girl about the same age was wheeled in with no hair and a face mask. I heard those words in my head and knew I had to do something. I promptly went home and sent an email to several of my friends. I was absolutely delighted to see the eager response of so many.

Over the past 2 years, our Guild has grown to around 25 members. Our fundraisers started small with garage and bake sales, home parties and change drives. We decided last year to take the plunge and challenge ourselves to host a big event. It was one of those "Field of Dreams" moments where you say to yourself "if you build it, they will come". And they did. We raised over $50,000 in our first "Swing for Jenna's Wings" golf tournament at the Mill Creek Country Club.
